Abstract

The most remote people have a valuable ancestral legacy, even more so the multicultural and multilingual countries. For this reason, the article aims to establish the importance of the inclusion of the ancestral legacy in education, based on the valuation of the cultural heritage little known and ignored by the great majority of students. For this purpose, a review and interpretation of theories and documents that support the research is made from a cultural-historical perspective. The study was carried out in two stages. At first, a documentary investigation was carried out on ancestral wisdom, diversity, cultural heritage and curricular diversification. In a second moment, the analysis and synthesis of the articles found in indexed journals was carried out. The ancestral legacy as a synonym for cultural diversity has been minimized and undervalued, considered in many cases as “non-formal education”. Consequently, due to the little treatment of the ancestral legacy Article as part of the process of curricular diversification in the educational system, we will continue to form the valuable cultural heritage of each people with our backs. Based on the study, we consider it pertinent to propose diversification as a fundamental part of the curricular planning process in educational institutions
