Bibliometric analysis as a tool for monitoring scientific publication in citizen participation

Abstract
Citizen participation in public management presents certain relevance in the process of social construction of public policies, which requires analysis given the current conditions in Peru. However, there is little scientific production on issues of citizen participation. Objective. Determine the status of scientific production on citizen participation in the scientific databases Scopus, Scielo, Redalyc and EBSCOHost in the periods 2016-2020. Materials and methods. The study is descriptive bibliometric, the analysis was carried out with a sample of 12627 articles published in the periods 2016-2020 in journals indexed in databases. Results. It was determined in the analysis that Mexico has the greatest contribution in scientific production on citizen participation and 2020 is the period with the highest record in that range. Discussion. Scientific productions on this subject are worked under a qualitative cut. Conclution. Scientific production on citizen participation requires higher quality with an emphasis on quantitative work that contributes to the scientific community.
