Systematic review about use of the Problem Based Learning method as a student-centered didactic technique

Abstract
Introduction. The problem-based learning methodology promotes the construction of learning, with a holistic approach, focused on problems of reality and seeks to make students responsible for their own learning. The objective of this systematic review article is to identify the theoretical and methodological approaches to problem-based learning. The methods that have been used to carry out this systematic review are the heuristic method that guided us to identify, define, explore and search for solutions, and the hermeneutical method that served as a way of interpreting and understanding the various bibliographic references. After reviewing 20 research articles from various journals, it has been found that most apply programs directed with the PBL methodology in order to develop the learning competence of students from different contexts. We conclude by mentioning that in the analysis of the systematic review it has been seen that the various research articles with different designs; The ABP methodology has been applied in different programs, obtaining as results the improvement of learning in various subjects and educational levels.
