The Formation and Reconfiguration of the Working Class: Historiographical Debates from Europe to the Andes
Main Article Content
Abstract
Labor historiography in the twentieth century has been shaped by debates on class, gender, and transnationality. The aim of this article is to analyze how these approaches redefined labor history in Latin America and the Andes. It is a historiographic, qualitative, and comparative study based on critical review of secondary sources, thematic matrices, and hermeneutic techniques. Results highlight the heterogeneity of workers’ experiences, where gender and ethnicity were decisive. The study concludes that the Ecuadorian case provides an analytical pivot to rethink universal categories.
